Snaps From The Week

Business
Still ripping out ramble videos into reels. Current strategy: I’ve been taking one “segment” from my video, turning it into a clip, then cutting 2-6 other versions from that same clip, and posting them as trial reels, then taking the one that performs the best and sharing it to everyone.
This week I had some absolute bangers go out. I’ve getting this pretty much constant stream of likes, comments, new followers, and DMs from people saying they’re resonating with the videos. Pretty crazy. Whatever I’m doing is clearing working, so I’m just gonna keep farming it.

I’ve also been sending “hey [name], appreciate the follow” voice notes to all new followers (that have public accounts I can message) and that’s also been working well. I’ve gotten into a handful of new good and meaningful conversations.
The ONLY reservation I have here is that I’m keeping an eye on who’s following and the conversations I’ve gotten into and there have been a good number that say things like “I’ve got an exam coming up” and such, so I think some of this is pulling in a bit of a younger crowd.
Nothing inherently wrong with that, but it’s not my target avatar (they don’t tend to have much money haha), but I don’t think it’s ALL this target group. So anyways, just keeping an eye on things.
The upside is that the content I’ve been making isn’t one of those scenarios where like a super random generic reels that I posted goes “viral” and just attracts a random selection of people. Everything that I’ve been making has felt very much on brand and resonating (internally), which is maybe part of the reason why it’s also resonating with others.
YouTube
I also finally, after many weeks, maybe months, recorded a YouTube video. Nothing crazy, but just needed to get back started again. Haven’t posted it yet, will edit and upload ASAP.

I broke down the “Schedule YouTube video” task into just bulleting out points for the video, then convincing myself that I would just do a practice run and record it a second time. I rewatched what I recorded and went “honestly, it’s really not too bad” so decided to just go with it.
Lifestyle
I’ve also been doing a lot more b-roll lifestyle clips (thanks to my new DJI osmo pocket 3 camera, makes it way easier). This one was a fun one to put together:
First Podcast Appearance
I also appeared on my first podcast this week! I was invited on by a friend I met in Bali this summer.
And yes I did it from my van 🙂

We ended up chatting for over an hour! It was actually really fun, I liked it and would definitely do it again.
I walked away from that thinking “hmmmmm yep there’s definitely more of those coming…”
Will post the link when it’s live!
New Intentional Learning
I finished up my 14-day storytelling sprint last week and moved onto the next deliberate skill, sales/enrollment.
Definitely a weak point for me, so I’m glad to finally sort of give myself permission and the structure to improve it.
Day One!
Last Sunday night I drove up into the mountains in preparation for the Monday pow day.

First day on skis this season!

It ended up being about 4″ of fresh, still nice, but mostly just groomers. We’ve (really the entire western U.S.) had quite a slow start to the season, so it’s still pretty thin out there.
BUT it still felt so good to get back on the edges and back into that feeling of full flow and presence.
It’s that feeling that I’ve gone after and that has pulled me this deep into skiing. When I’m carving down the mountain, nothing else in the universe exists. It’s the perfect balance of difficulty, enough to capture attention, but not too difficult. I love that feeling, full flow and presence.
Battery Heater Pads
I was noticing some of the colder days, the temp on my batteries was too low for either my solar or B2B charger to charge them.
I had little heater pads for my last battery, but when I swapped it out for the 2x200ah batteries, I never got new ones and the existing ones were too small.
So I ordered some new bigger ones, stuck ’em to some aluminum panels that fortunately were the exact same size, and wired ’em up.

And they just worked! Nice!
That I believe is the last of this season’s winterizing. Now if it gets too cold, I’ve got my propane heater keeping the inside of the van warm, and I can heat up my batteries enough to charge them with my B2B charger as I drive.
Put that original battery heater together this week, Chill Van Life In Denver (November 13th, 2022) (kinda wild I’ve been writing these posts that long…)
Not sure I documented it, I’m sure it’s somewhere, but I had a lot of battery issues that winter, just not having enough, running the van’s B2B charger while stationary just to get enough, having to move a lot, getting too cold to charge.
Here’s one of those cold night examples (the coldest 😅 ): Van Life At -24ºF: Did My Pipes Make It? (February 5th, 2023) I remember running my portable propane heater inside the van just to warm my batteries back up enough to charge.
So anyways, love having to not need to worry about that. Such a mental relief and weight lifted off from doing that.
This van is becoming quite a beast for the winter…
The Double Pow Storm
And speaking of… I had to put it all to good use. This weekend was a big storm that rolled through, so I headed back up into the mountains Friday night.

Went to Vail, got there at like 8:15am, the gondola loads at 9am. So I had my first 3-4 runs just basically untracked.

I took some long breaks this time. I usually just power through, but I knew I’d be there all day so I paced myself. I would say it was almost “free refills” but it was basically soft and really nice all day.
That said, they did open some new completely untracked runs and it was honestly TOO deep. It was up to my knees and somewhat heavy, so my skis just sunk in and I slowed to a stop. Everyone was struggling, falling over, getting stuck.
And in venturing into the trees trying to traverse to this untracked section I saw from the lift at like 2pm, I ended up turning and scraping right into a rock and getting a night little core shot on my brand new skis 😭 I suppose it could’ve been worse… But still wasn’t the most pleased with this 😅

I’m still not very confident in the tights sections, trees, especially with these skis which are a lot longer than normal (191cm).
BUT I did end up making it to that untracked section and oh my lord was it good holy shit.
And as for the “double” in “The Double Pow Storm,” I did ski most of Sunday as well, but I’ll include that in next week’s post.

Morning!
Today's the podcast with [name] at 9am! My first podcast appearance!
Gonna head up to the Wooly Mammoth park and ride where I did that motorcycle course.
What's on my mind this morning?
[...]
Been ripping out reels lately.
I could feel my [IFS parts] coming up when thinking about the podcast last night and this morning, practicing what the "right words" are for what I do, trying to explain my story, etc.
What else is on my mind?
THIS DOUBLE POW DAY TOMORROW AND SUNDAY. After the podcast, gonna do errands, then rip up to Vail area. It's gonna be dumping all day tomorrow, free refills, I'm sure they're gonna open up more terrain. Bro it's gonna be so good. We'll need to pace ourselves, not get the knees too sore and tired too soon, because it's literally gonna dump all day. Then Sunday I think is gonna be clear. Looks like about 11" at least, maybe 14" or so over Friday to Saturday night. I CAN'T WAIT. I'VE BEEN PREPARING AND WAITING FOR THIS EXACT MOMENT.
All the ski prep, the new B2B charger, the battery warmers. The upgraded 2x200ah batteries, the renovated back of the van, adding the extra insulation to the back, the new tires, the Starlink... All of it was for literally this weekend. That's crazy bro.
I'm grateful for all the work and effort I've put into the van. This thing is becoming an absolute beast.
What else?
That video I ripped on my walk to the bathroom, talking about still getting morning thoughts to open Instagram, but that question I ask myself, "will this change my behavior," bro all 5 of them absolutely smashed it... One got flagged as being "too similar" and so the reach got killed, but when I went to bed it was like 2.7k, 2.5k, 1.9k, 1.7k... 170 views. Insane. There was something about that that worked... the energy, the casual-ness, the pain, the message.
And then I posted 2 videos as 6 trial reels yesterday and the full video on the Bali coworking insecurity got up to 1.2k by the time I was going to bed.
We're just getting smash after smash after smash, it's crazy.
Just keep farming... Whatever I'm doing is working.
The next question is how do we take this and turn it into cash in my bank account?
My thought is do what I did two days ago, where I ripped some reels using my [[202511040932 🧲 The 10PM Turnaround System]] and made one where I was like "and the third is the body, but this video is too long so I put together this full guide, shoot me a DM"
I think it's more CTAs. I've already started adding CTAs to the bottom of my captions. Who knows if it'll help.
And then pulling people into long form YouTube.
Which means I need to post that YouTube video and get another one recorded.
[...]
Let's just absolutely smash this podcast and have fun with it! :)
What’s Next?
The weather is looking dry for about the next 2 weeks… so I’m headed back down to Denver. Hoping some storms pile up soon after that🤞
