Metrics From The Week

Feels good to get back to consistency again.

Snaps From The Week

Van was a mess at the start of the week, but finally took an errands run and got it cleaned up.
Business
Been absolutely ripping out content lately. I started recording these long “ramble” videos, where I just kinda talk about what’s been going on and actively look for anything worth sharing. Very similar to my old DailyVs but more “outcome” focused, like packaging up lessons.
Then I go through and cut out clips and sections for reels. I’ve been surprised to see in post that there are a LOT more clippable sections than I thought. So I’ve been editing and posting a lot of those. They’ve still been doing quite well, many doing 1,200-1,700 views.
And I’ve been getting DMs from people reaching out asking about my coaching who saw my reels, so that’s been good movement as well!

I’ve also had some fun putting together little b-roll clips for Instagram stories, little snaps from working from the van.
This week was also the second and final week for my first 14-day Storytelling Sprint skill acquisition. I’m really liking this format, I feel WAY better than I started at crafting and telling stories. Still tons of development to be done, but point being, I’m already seeing the rewards from the deliberate learning.
And on the life and van admin side of things, it’s slowed down quite a bit, so I’ve been able to allocate more time to working, recording, and de-loading (meditations and walks in the park).
This has been my current idealized structure: 1/3 laptop/calls, 1/3 recording, 1/3 de-loading. It’s probably not exactly 1/3 each, but the idea is that the current metric is not maximizing “hours behind laptop.”
The Ski Arc
So I’m back in the van… It’s winter… I’m in Colorado. My whole idea for coming back was to lock in as well as do some skiing this season.
I called around to find another set of seasons ski/boot rentals this year, but no place I talked to had the type of gear I was looking for. Last time I was skiing, I made some notes about what I liked and didn’t like, and realized my boots were too soft of flex (85, then later in the season 100) which was causing a lot of jostling around when I was trying to ski powder and choppy stuff.
My recommendation for my future self was to get 110 flex boots, and skis a bit wider and longer. Well, season rental places don’t carry these (they’re too “specialized”) because not enough people tend to rent them.
So I was a bit stuck, either go back to the highest end rental gear I could find and accept a worse experience, or buy boots and skis…
Well I’ll just let the photos show you what I ended up deciding to do…

I got fitted for ski boots at a professional boot shop. This isn’t your “hey try these on and tell me what you think” this was measurements, trying on 2 pairs, feedback, 2 more pairs, honing in on the perfect fit around the mid foot, ankle, outer foot, etc. AND custom footbeds.
I had ankle and knee pain last season I was skiing, so I figured might as well get the boots absolutely dialed, that way I’m not in pain again, which just turns a pow day into sucking.
And then I was planning on demoing some skis but ended up finding this pair of skis that essentially checked every single box for what I was looking for. And there was a black friday deal, so I just said screw it and went for them.
And I ended up going with just the full Epic pass this year, no Ikon.
My credit card company has been calling me nonstop about “LARGE PURCHASE FRAUD ALERT FRAUD ALERT” (okay kidding) but at least I can go ski now 😂 😅
SNOW
FIRST SNOW OF THE SEASON (down in Denver). IT’S SO FLUFFY.

It’s been a slow season up in the mountains, but there are a handful of resorts open with a handful of runs. Hopeful that these next couple storms over the next 2 weeks make a big dent in the base.
Van Admin
Last week I was struggling with my B2B charger not working at full power anymore and troubleshooting that.
Well this week I got a new B2B charger and installed it. It was a pretty straightforward drop-in, just needed new fuses and to reattach all the connections.
But then… it just… worked.
It immediately started pumping 50A (~600W) into my batteries and HOLY SHIT that felt so good. 800W with my solar also charging. I’ve never hit these numbers before.

For context, I usually get about a peak of ~150W-175W of solar nowadays in winter on a clear sunny day. I’m pulling about a total of ~650-700Wh over a full day of sunshine. That would take only 1 hour of just simply driving my van with my B2B charger to get to. (that’s 600W x 1 hour = 600Wh; took me admittedly too long to figure out what all the units meant, it’s been a while since my last physics course lol)
Feeling WAY more confident and relieved, it’s gonna take away so many of the battery discharging headaches and worries. And especially since I upgraded my batteries last year from 170ah to 400ah. It’s gonna be a good winter 🙂
Food From The Week

- Big salads for lunch (save 1/2 for the next day) with either tempeh or salmon
- Made a chicken stir fry this week that was amazing
- And a chicken burrito another night that was also amazing
What’s Next?
I totally lied to you last week, THIS week ⛷️ 👀
