Working or Working?
Spent two nights in Athens, both mornings walked to a coffee shop to journal. So good to be back into that routine.
I’ve been reading my signal miners more and more, this shit is so cool. Every morning I get this report of stories from my previous day, ideas, frameworks, all from my video journals and obsidian journal notes.
My intention for this trip in general was to take some time away from my laptop and rest, whatever resting means.
I ended up something like 5 hrs on my laptop one day, 3 hrs the next.
But I was doing a lot of what I call Pulling The Thread, building stuff, automations, AI integrations… fun stuff. Allowing myself to do that.
Flow State
Both days I did go out on these long walks though, and it was fun. Walking down the streets of Athens, just in a flow state, exploring, taking photos, taking in all the energy of the people/street and the stimulation of the environment. It felt good to just explore and wander and look around in awe at the world.
Thoughts From Athens
People just seem depressing here. I went into a restaurant, said hi, sat down, and waited 5 minutes just for them to bring over the menu, then going to pay and asked about the airbnb discount and the guy said literally nothing to me, no expression, I paid, said thanks, he said nothing.
I’m like bro it’s sooooo different from Bali where you walk into any restaurant and the staff treats you like family with a big smile on their face. It’s so wild.
Update on people being depressing: I found some other friendly people in Athens, so it’s not everyone, but it for sure is very different from Bali.

Selamat pagi- wait... it's kalimera here lol. I almost said "makasih ya" to someone yesterday.
Well! We're back in Europe. It's a drizzly morning here. 16ºC. Quite nice to be honest. I'll take it. Was fun flying yesterday dressed in my nice shoes, pants, coat. Love this wardrobe setup. I need to dial it in more for Bali though. It's a bit European-leaning.
What's on the mind?
Fun Life Update last night, it's a shame I hide all the [...] stuff to private only. Got a bunch of other little things I gotta do but I was too tired for yesterday. But I'm also trying to NOT work here and take a break. Idk how to take a break lol, go to a coffee shop and journal, maybe a long exploration walk, take photos, maybe an exploration run, but it's also raining all day today. So yeah we'll figure something out.
BRO these signal miners have been SO COOL lately. Got Claude to build my auto video transcriber and signal miner nightly cron job. Fuck bro I can't contain it it's actually so cool I feel this buzz inside my chest wanting to share it. Shared it to my family last night. They were supportive but not as jazzed as me. Bro literally on the flights yesterday. I watched maybe 5 min of YouTube then was like "eh it's not that interesting." I spent the time reading through my signal miner reports/runs of my videos of my [...] - [...] and BRO it was so interesting. It was like reading an interesting story but it's MY OWN LIFE and each one re-triggered the memory. So cool. I'm smiling right now. My screen time for Obsidian yesterday? 3 hr 22 min. FUCK this is so cool. To think about recreating this for someone would be so overkill but just to think I've created this pipeline of content and documenting my life such that this is actually possible is really cool.
Okay we moved across the street, to Pancake & Cake Acropolis.
So now the hardest part of these signal miners is actually USING it and not just reading about it. Gonna shift to a creative brainstorm session let's see.
Idea dump:
- Inertia and physical movement, maybe relates to Floor Action, routine, habits
- Testing the boundary/ceiling - [...]; asking instead of assuming, like "let the market decide"
- Fear of the yes, what it entails
- Getting AI to make you a plan... then proceed to do nothing about it besides feel good for a moment
- Fear of being found out - share some vulnerability
- [...]'s webinar fear - BP scope reduction example
- 160 new followers, now freezing at what to post next, feeling the pressure
- If you want to be more motivated: (can I?) x (is it worth it?)
- Behaviorally why plans don't work vs. feelings
- Why I left such a lucrative job
Onem Crete

Flew down to Chania (island of Crete), ~50 min, met up with two of the guys in the group and drove to the house.
It was so good to see everyone again, catch up, meet some new guys.

Mornings
Waking up, 7am, journaling, no phone, then setting up my camera to record some reels. I love mornings like this.

Wednesday October 28th, 2026 | Crete, Greece
Man I love these mornings so much. Making an espresso, nobody else up, standing outside looking at the view, just taking it in. I'm trying out putting my phone way out of reach to reduce the temptation to go on, and actually wake up slowly.
We got three calls today. [...]
And MAN do I want to film like a shitload of content here wow, the seats outside are perfect, the view is crazy good. I'm wondering how I can just go [name]-mode and record a bunch of stuff.
Tbh now that I have these signal miners I can just sit down and do a ramble, since everything is alive in me, then maybe do clips after if I still need to.
[name] seems cool, I like his Qs + mindset. I was talking with him + [name], Kris about next properties and Onem. One thing that stood out was Kris admitting that he can't switch off. At Barcelona VIP game he walked us through, walking in, fascinated, then the pause, then "so... what's next?" and was making videos how the real seats are over there, he's thinking about this London property, Granada improvements. He said it a bit as if it just is what it is, that this is how men think, almost like a flat joke-ish. I found that interesting. And it's not new. He's always been like that. It's just that there's got to be a downside to that. He's also for sure mostly a Yellow but also a Red.
What else? Thinking about [name]'s first call today, feeling a bit of hesitation, just from unknown + uncertainty, idk what his situation is like. This I'm realizing is unfortunately the downside of this coaching model/product. I can sell without calls but then I have no idea what to expect. I'm sure I'll be fine, just one of those small things I noticed.
What else? How do I want to spend this week? What's success? Some good content, couple reels or YT videos, good conversation + connection, some experiences for the memories. That's probably most important. Have some fun with the boys.
More content ideas:
- how to properly switch off, reset, reset; fake resting, working vs. Padel day in KL
- courage vs. conviction
- 2021 dream of freedom + road trips
- independence/lone wolf vs. reality of step function growth
- how to know if you're locked in or not
- didn't I define this somewhere fall 2025?
- real capacity constraint and what to do about it
- not being able to switch off (Kris) , it never gets better externally, has to change internally
- share the cold pool story
- everyone talks about ideas but in 100% of cases there's a specific 3s decision fork micro gap during your day where you either apply it or dont
- cracking the wall, getting one rep in, always the hardest
- morning routine - reducing decisions, get into action ASAP
- how I started in the gym – elliptical + YT; cracking the wall, floor, not being hard on yourself
- naming and disassociating with the voices
- "will this change my behavior right now?"
- [name]'s testimonial - laziness + procrastination -> limiting beliefs
- why we struggle to feel - paid to think
- 268 videos never published
- talking myself out of pursuing what called me
- if I wanted to I would do it & competing commitments
- inertia + the Montana photo

WHAT IS UP. Good morning. Got my calls done with yesterday. [name], [name], onboarded [name]. Was late for my call with [name]. But I'd say it went super well! And wow it was so interesting hearing him speak and share that he's analytical but trying to develop emotional awareness. I had this moment I was like oh my god I'm attracting myself... that's wild.
Also I'm getting a bunch of scattered thoughts right now I'm gonna dump them.
- [name] + [name] saying I look/feel happier, and agreeing with them. I feel lighter and more playful
- [[202610290024 The guys said I look happier]]
- Enjoying my drive into town with [name]
- In town for drinks/dinner, 4:30pm, call started 6:30pm, brain couldnt switch off, waiting to hear from [name], then deciding to push it to next week, then the guys asking when my call is and that I should keep it, then leaving late because I was talking to Kris. I did not like that feeling, whatever it was, anxiety, restlessness. I could hear my own self talking about switching off to clients, [name], [name]. But I was like it's actually this big open loop that DOES impact me in the next hour, not something that doesn't matter if I think about it or not.
- The eye contact from girls walking by Fraoules, I was like wow... damn these girls are beautiful... and my type too...
- Convo with [name] about approaching, talking to women, his idea of being more selective, talk to everyone, genuinely, then _after_ decide "oh wow she's beautiful." Be selective. Be honest, genuine, not trying to play this front to hope she doesn't find out all you wanna do is sleep with her type of thing.
- His idea of going from thought to action super quick, just idea, bang, talking to people, making comments, observations. Interesting that it's like the opposite of what I teach, to _increase_ that gap, just for different applications
- Also taking into consideration he's a Yellow-Red and culturally more talkative, hearing him talk about how his dad was I was like oh wow yeah he's the same that's where it came from LOL
- Interesting convo last night with [name] + [name], [name] was asking me more about what I do, how I learned it, hypnosis, also talked about masturbation/porn, his struggle with it, he asked what my thoughts were, talked about my sexual energy protocol. Also kinda felt nice having him interested in me, asking me more
- [name] trying to convince me to come to Finland, I wasn't going to but looking at flights I'm like maybe it could make sense as my way back to Virginia. But then I'm like am I just doing what I did last year, spending more time away from Bali and gonna regret it... so idk, need to decide. I would have <4 weeks once I get back to Bali, let's see. But also I'd probably leave end of December anyway, so how valuable is that extra ~2 weeks spent in Bali, to miss this Finland trip opportunity?
- [name] complimented my reels + quality lately, that no one really speaks about feelings + emotions
- [name] asking about my process, wanting to read and study, I was like I have no idea if this is gonna work for him async but lets see, I just like threw together notes idk it it's actually a good process yet
- [name]'s Q: where do I see myself in 10 years? I'd be 38, girlfriend or wife, probably kids, house somewhere, but still traveling, hosting retreats or events or talks, still coaching, just haven't decided if I want to go Tony Robbins (big stages, events) or Dan Bolton (quiet but impactful, lower social media presence)
- [name] saying he admired my ability to hit record and talk for 20 min, that was kinda wild because I feel like I still struggle with making videos like that. Bit of recognition. Felt good. I was thinking bro I've been doing this for like 6 years... 500+ videos published, maybe thousands more unpublished...
- Everyone talking about boredom – [name], [name], [name], [name]
- [name] naming escape vs. productive procrastination SO CLEANLY yesterday I was like wow, click
- [name] asking about Capacity and what to do about it when it's a constraint - the "it's just biology" response, talking about Sulyn
Content
Recorded a set of reels out by the pool, then a couple more ramble videos. I think I’ve got 1-2 yt videos and maybe 30 reel clips. So, like and subscribe!
One of the things I built this week in some down time one morning while it was pouring rain out, was this auto-reel clipper using Claude Code. I previously had a prompt that could take a transcript and find some reel clip segments, but I’m still super behind on hours and hours of coaching calls and rambles that could become reels.
And a friend of mine a couple weeks ago was showing me how she using Claude Code to completely edit her reels. It’s pretty crazy and cool.
So I had it setup a little pipeline process where I can give it a long video, it’ll transcribe it, find reel segments, automatically cut up the videos, then it shows them on a private web browser where I can go through, star the good ones, make comments, then hit a button and it drops everything into a Davinci Resolve timeline for me to just quickly trim up, and export. This shit is WAY cool… And it’s already saving me SO MUCH time in editing reels.
Exploring Rethimno

Exploring Chania

It was a pretty chill trip for the most of it. It rained every single day we were there, we had some dry patches here and there, but we got fairly unlucky with the weather.
And we didn’t do too many activities, but to be honest I still had a really good time. Had some great conversations with the other guys, played pool, really enjoyed exploring and walking around and just going from cafe to cafe to cafe and sitting, talking, laughing hysterically for hours.
And THEN there was the last day, the yacht day…
The Yacht Day
We got up early because it was a 2.5 hour drive across the island to the pickup point.

The road tightened and turned into this construction zone.
We came around this very slight bend in the road and in front of the car in front of us was a truck, stopped, in OUR lane.
So the car in front of us slowed down and slowed down, then stopped.
We slowed down and stopped.
And then BANG, this jolt from behind pushed us forward. The car in front of us hit us.
Nobody was injured thankfully, he wasn’t going that fast. We got out and were trying to communicate with the guy but he didn’t speak any english at all. We tried using a translation app. He was pointing forward and it came out to something like “and now we find the other guy”

I thought he meant we move off the road, so we took a photo of his car, got back in, and started driving again.
We got 30s down the road, where the construction stopped and the road opened back up, and then the guy passes us and speeds off. We’re like “wait what?”
So we pull over, call the police, my friend calls his rental company. And then we wait…
We thought about having one of the other cars pick me up since we’d be late for the yacht, but I decided to stay.
We waited about 30 minutes for the police to show up and just continued chatting about what we were talking about, relationships, life, dating.
The police show up, we tell them what happened, they take the info, and they find the phone number of the guy because of the license plate photo and call him to come back and show up.
We we’re both thinking there’s no way he comes back to show up… But after another like 30-45 minutes, sure enough he shows up. They talk, get all the paper work and forms written down, and say that it’s always the fault of the guy behind, gave us the forms that my friend gives the rental company, says everything is good, and we all drive off. The police were friendly, they said they deal with this all the time.

So after that 2 hr little adventure… we continued on our way. We didn’t make the yacht, but the guys who did told us where they’d dock for a couple hours and that we could meet them there.

So that’s what we did, we drove an extra 30 min from the town of the yacht pickup up north to this beach. Absolutely beautiful area.
And two of the guys came on paddle boards to shore to pick both of us up and paddled back out to the yacht.

We had about another 30 min from when we arrived. I jumped in a handful of times, used the snorkel gear, used my gopro a bit, and put the drone up.
Absolutely stunning.
It was a bit frantic at first, trying to get all the footage I wanted, but I stopped a couple times to put my phone/camera down and just take it all in. What a day, what an experience, what a beautiful location and incredible opportunity.
On the way back unfortunately our videographer put HIS drone up and as he launched it, it hit the ropes of the boat and took a nose dive staight into the water and immediately started sinking. He jumped in after it to try to recover it but it was already too late… So the chaos continued…
And then we docked and my friend who was driving goes “did I give you the car keys? I can’t find them” 😂
So they drive back to where we parked the car and sure enough… they were sitting in the sand where we changed to get on the paddle boards…
What a freakin’ day…
Thoughts From Crete
202610290024 The guys said I look happier
#feedback
At Onem Crete, was chatting with [name] and he asked me how life in Bali was, and then at some point kinda randomly said "you look much happier than when I saw you in Iceland" and then [name] jumped in and said the same thing, that I feel happier.
A question that I thought about and asked one of the other guys that I thought was interesting:
202610311712 What I like most about girls
#personal #women
1. Playfulness, the joking and laughing, not thinking about anything
That feminine energy, presence
2. Feeling like a man, leading, being respected, making the decisions and having her look up to me, wait for me
I've struggled with making decisions for long time, as a kid my family used to answer for me, so I've had to work through that. But that feeling of looking both ways to cross the street and holding her hand, or walking into a restaurant and picking a seat, deciding. Though I still do like her contributing, giving ideas, I don't like doing everything myself - like [name] suggesting playing pool
And shared the first date with [name] where she drove her scooter in front of me, I was following her, and she passed that truck and I didn't, stayed behind. It's not a massive deal but I was like... It's this little thing that's a representation of her mindset and dynamic of the relationship. And I remember not liking that.
## Context
Asked [name] what he likes most about women and he asked me back.
202610311717 Women are the color to the lines of life
#women
I like this idea, you know those coloring books with the black and white pictures and you color in the lines?
Men are the black and white outlines
Women are the color inside
And [name] added: and it's also good when they color outside the lines as well
If you only had men life would be really structured, organized, but boring. If you only had women, life would be playful, fun, exciting, but chaotic.
## Context
Told [name] this, I think I told [name] this a long time ago, can't remember where exactly I got it from.
Also told this to [name] and he liked it and said he might steal it for a video lol
Resting And Switching Off
Lastly, the struggle with switching off and resting… I made a ramble video about this, talking about how I’ve struggled with this for like 4 years at this point. But I did some AI research and found some really interesting information that helped me.
Four components that make up good rest:
- Psychological detachment. You’re not thinking about work, not just away from it physically. This is the strongest predictor of feeling recovered.
- Relaxation. Low activation: slow walks, sitting in a café without an agenda, a sauna, a nap.
- Mastery. Something challenging that isn’t work, like lifting, a language, cooking something new, or sport. Surprisingly, this restores you more than pure lounging.
- Control. You choose what to do with the time, with no obligations or “shoulds.”
Three more things are well supported:
- Sleep comes first. Nothing else makes up for bad sleep.
- Nature and “soft fascination.” Attention Restoration Theory says environments that hold your attention gently, like streets, trees, water and people-watching, refill directed attention.
- Social connection that isn’t work-related.
And so those days in Rethimno, Chania, exploring with the guys, chatting, talking about whatever, the road trip, getting in an accident, jumping off the yacht… All of that really helped. Feeling much more fresh now and excited. Still feeling behind but feeling more excited for sure.
What’s Next?
