Metrics From The Week

WE’VE DONE IT. I’m a teenager again 😂😂😂

Snaps From The Week

The trees are blooming! Which dwindles the hope in more snow, but I’ll admit the sunshine and warmth is quite nice.

Had some inner child fun on my way back from recording some reels, saw some rocks and thought about jumping around on them.

Been getting a little bored of the coffee/coffee shop rotation, decided to spice things up a bit and try some other drinks.

  • (left) single origin espresso
  • (middle) cortado
  • (right) cortado

Also tried a traditional macchiato.

It’s been a bit of an adjustment because I’m now so used to that PUNCH of flavor of an espresso. Literally every single other coffee just feels weak or watered down now 😂😅

Coaching

Logged in to LinkedIn this week to see what a friend was up to and the first post I saw was a promotion announcement from an old coworker I was close with to senior software engineer, same company.

It was a mixture of surprise and almost sadness because she told me she would almost certainly be leaving our team as well right after I left… and that was almost 4 years ago.

Ended up basing my video off of that moment this week.

I’ve also gotten back into recording proper reels again. I was inspired by a friend that’s posted some great reels just sitting up against a tree, so I thought that’d be fun to do too.

My camera roll looks mostly like this now lol

I also tweaked part of my weekly plans after a content strategy session with AI last week and have been in a LOT more DM conversations with people and posting a lot more pain/CTA stories.

And I used to feel hesitant and icky around CTAs, but I’ve been having fun with them lately.

Across from one of the coffee shops I like was this pool of water and a random shopping cart in the middle. Got the idea for the first one 2 weeks ago and every couple days progressively saw the shopping cart in different positions. I’m telling you the content just writes itself at this point 😂

Inner Work

Asked my Obsidian Copilot AI to read through my deep inner journaling from last week and surface patterns and threads for me to pull on.

I did a kind of hybrid IFS/Focusing session this week and it was VERY good, very emotional.

It’s so fascinating to see how much of our emotions and past dictate and guide our behavioral patterns.

I can tell this is the direction I’m moving in coaching as well. The body holds a lot, and I keep seeing the best insights and unlocks come from the body and not through intellectually understanding the problem in our lives.

Socializing

My whole week’s worth of socializing in one moment:

Got a single origin espresso at Loki. I go here like maybe once a week?

And 30 minutes later, the barista comes out with a second espresso and goes “I know you always get single origin espressos, would you like to try another one?”

I’m like 😂 well don’t mind if I do of course!

We had a little exchange and thanked her on my way out.

I was walking out like did she really remember me from a week ago 🤔 but then again I’ve got a pretty distinctive laptop with all my stickers on it so maybe it’s not that hard lol.

Thoughts From The Week

Got some amazing personalized journaling prompts in a session this week, here are some.

## Career & Work Identity

[...]

- What's the dumbest reason you stayed at a job longer than you should have?

Hahahahah that it would negatively impact my team, because I was contributing so much, documenting so much, creating so many PRs.

- What do people misunderstand about quitting a high-paying job?

That it's easy. Oh bro just put in your two weeks easy. No you don't understand. It's like, well if I wait another 6 weeks, I'll get $[X]k in stock vested, so $[X]k in CASH. And if I just wait another 2 months I'll get my yearly bonus, another $[X]k cash, plus maybe 8% salary raise... There's so much holding you there.

[...]

## Money & Financial Identity

[...]

- What's something you spend money on that most people your age wouldn't? And something you refuse to spend on that most people your age do?

Spend money on: my health, Whoop, eating well, spending $[X]/mo in Bali ([name] asked me this in Porto and he was like bro that's ridiculous, and it is); also Onem community - so much traveling and trips abroad.

Refuse: apartment, lol

- When did money stop being the main scorecard for you? Was it a moment or a slow fade?

Not quite a moment, but a fade over some months while working... Basically every moment I got a bonus or vest, especially my sign on bonus, $[X]k pre tax? ended up being I think $[X]k in CASH. And then the next day I was already excited for my next paycheck... I experienced that and was like ohhhhhh okay now I understand this cycle. [[202502011226 Video - Fulfillment is achievable for anyone who tries]] talks about this.

- What would you tell someone who's terrified of losing financial stability but also hates their life?

Oooo good question. That you'll figure it out. That excitement, aliveness, fulfillment, meaning are worth the financial price. I'd rather earn $[X]k feeling fucking alive then $[X]k feeling empty and dreading every day. You only get one life here.

## Loneliness & Social Life

- What's the difference between being alone and being lonely, for you specifically?

Being alone: nobody in my physical presence, but checking in with people online, story replies to me, replying to other peoples stories, having a client call, DCE, a chat with someone

Being lonely: feeling like I'm doing this life all by myself, no one cheering for me, no one in my corner helping me, no one to share life with, to travel with

[...]

- What's the social cost of the lifestyle you've chosen that nobody warned you about?

Fuck these questions are fire. That it's fucking lonely bro.

I was at the gym literally right before this and thought about the idea of taking a picture of the people on the treadmill. I think the average age was about 55. I'm like _searching_ for someone in there that's my age, attractive, just so that I have something to look at and feel, to feel that friction inside me... "should I go and say something? fuck shes attractive, oh shes walking over here, do I say something, what could I say" I miss that overthinking HAHAHA

Can't wait to be back in Bali.

## Direction, Purpose & "What's Next"

- What's something you thought would give you clarity but didn't

Hahahaha trying to understand things, word-smith inside AI chatbots, my offer doc that I spent a while crafting, trying to figure out the right wording and such... but have used like zero times... But at the same time, I felt like doing that gave me some of the confidence to _understand_ things in my mind, to give me permission to just go "ah fuck it just custom design programs with each person."

- When a client says "I don't know what I want," what do you actually see underneath that?

Com'on bro you know what you want. You at least know what you don't want. You're just being clouded by decision fatigue and fog.

Like [name], is like bro idk about the next step here... then goes on to give me this super detailed breakdown of the [...] business he wants to start, how he's gonna work with businesses... I'm like yeah okay.

Or [name], who's REALLY lost... even gave me his interests in our conversation, finances, working with kids.

- What's the worst advice you've heard about finding your purpose?

That it'll just come to you. Bro you gotta work to find it. Back when I was journaling these notes [[202108132118 Current interests and skills]] I literally didn't have the data then to bridge me and get me to this life coaching business... I had to try shit on my own and realize that the feeling of flow from deep conversations is the thing to follow, then realize I'm making all these excuses and [...] and get over all these excuses. Like that shit doesn't just fall into your lap.

[...]

## Fear, Resistance & Avoidance

[...]

- What's a fear you've overcome that, looking back, seems almost silly?

AH! All the excuses I had about not wanting to use coaching to make money. I don't know if I've documented them all somewhere... But some context is here [[202512020802 Video - Why I scrapped my 10-year plan and what happened in Bali]] and [[202406220754 My current high-level business path]]

Seeing these come up literally on calls, and just moving through them easily... each time I'm like why did I make such a big deal about this?

Like payment issues with [name] and working through that, sending a message to him about it.

And sending my payment link to [name], having her pay, and thanking her for it. Just like... oh, that wasn't that hard.

## Identity & Self-Image
- Who were you a year ago that you no longer recognize?

Socially insecure. A year ago was about Vietnam 2025, pre-Bali. And bro Bali socially changed my life. I look at my past self, and even myself right now, _socially_ and see someone scared to literally say anything to anyone that's not on a script, like ordering a coffee. Just look at [[202403141834 🗣️ Social skills log]]

I see this coming back up now while I'm in the U.S. in my van, but now _having the context_ of who I am in Bali, starting conversations in the sauna, running Tribal Solutions, doing Give It All talks, and the confidence I have... just makes this feel like "this isn't me" rather than "this is just what life is like."

I wish I could scream to him... THE U.S. IS NOT NORMAL. GO ABROAD. STAY IN HOSTELS IT'S SO MUCH EASIER TO TALK TO PEOPLE THERE AND MEET PEOPLE STOP TRYING TO FIT A SQUARE PEG IN A ROUND HOLE JUST LEAVE.

- What part of your old identity are you still carrying that doesn't fit anymore?

Socially... the "I'm not good at talking to people" story
Financially... the "I have to pinch every single penny or else I'm gonna run out of money and then die"
The Lone Wolf identity, the "I can do this all by myself with no help" part

- What do people assume about you that's wrong?

Not sure, but usually the van life catches people off guard, saying I live in a van, despite dressing fairly well.

- What do people assume about you that's painfully accurate?

Something [name] brought up... the kind of over-optimization tendency, where "watching a movie isn't ROI positive thus I don't do it." That tendency to almost always me trying to do the "most productive" thing.

## Inner Work & Self-Awareness

[...]

## Environment & Lifestyle Design
- What's one thing about your current setup (van, location, routine) that people romanticize but actually kinda sucks?

FUCK LAUNDRY BRO I WISH I HAD A LAUNDRY MACHINE HAHAHAH
I mean there's so much else, the literal DAILY nervous system anxiety finding a place to park, waiting and looking around if anyone's looking before sneaking to the back, opening my curtains in the morning, checking if anyone's there and if its safe to go out to the cab.

- What environment brings out the worst version of you?

Ohhhh damn... Apartments. Yep for sure. [[202301110839 Thoughts on apartment life after Santa Fe]], [[202204050937 I don't like living in an apartment]]

- What's something you changed about your physical environment that changed your behavior almost overnight?

Changes to/from van life and Bali
Staying in a hostel
Working out at Nirvana
Going to Onem events

- Where were you the last time you felt fully alive? What was different about that place?

Prepping for my last call with [name], recording that prep and putting it on my story, dancing to music, meditation, elevating my energy.
Usually recording videos also makes me feel alive
Give It All speeches

- What would you never go back to, environment-wise?

An apartment... but without guardrails.

## Health, Energy & Body
- What does your energy actually look like at 2pm?

Honestly, tired. Bit of a lull after lunch, but starting to raise again if I set up my camera to record.

- What health habit do you do that you think more people should try — that isn't trendy?

Just fucking value your sleep hahaha

- When was the last time you were genuinely well-rested? What was different?

Most days to be honest. Sleep is mostly dialed. I notice it when I dip.

- What do you notice about your body when you're avoiding something vs. when you're aligned?

That feeling of Resistance with a capital R [[202603061133 The War of Art by Steven Pressfield]]
Like I was mentioning to [name] yesterday, it's just a whisper, you never feel the feeling of public speaking on stage... your fear just gently guides you so that you never even walk near the stage...

- What's one thing you do for your body that your 22-year-old self would've called unnecessary?

Skincare, eating so much (see spending $[X]/mo on food in Bali)

## Comparison & External Validation

[...]

- What's the difference between inspiration and comparison for you, and where does the line blur?

Inspiration is love, comparison is lack.
Inspiration is fuck yes, it's possible
Comparison is fuck, no, why am I not where I want to be, why is it not going as fast as I want it to go

## Relationships & Dating
- What's something you've learned about yourself through dating that has nothing to do with dating?

That I'm broken and still have so much work to do hahah
Oh! That my career, path, and direction make a significant impact on my confidence, and thus how I carry myself on a date
That similar to [name] I ask a lot of questions, and usually fear people asking ME questions because I don't want to admit that I'm still not where I want to be

- What do you wish someone had told you about relationships at 24?

Stop making them such a big deal, just go on dates. You don't find "the one" by swiping or standing back, you find them by... going on dates and learning.

## Coaching & Clients
- What's a breakthrough you witnessed that surprised even you?

These last 3 focusing sessions are kind of crazy to witness...
[name] going through this cycle of shame to love
[name] saying his part needs to be expressed and loved
[name] coming to the realization that his problem isn't fear or overcoming fear, it's self trust and self acceptance.

- What's the most common lie your clients tell themselves?

That the emotional side is separate from their "main work" - like [name] saying he's not sure how to balance money/business work with his interest in the emotional work... bro they're directly connected.

- What moment in a session made you think "this is why I do this"?

End of [name] hearing the unlocks that she gets, being able to feel seen and heard, and her going "these calls are genuinely so helpful"
[name] saying that his part needs to be loved
[name] saying his part needs to be expressed and loved

Like fuckkk bro

And after my reel going to 20k views about the towel drop story, crying on video to myself, that someone out there needs me to show up, they need me to be vulnerable and show that I've failed so that they can feel safe

- What's the hardest thing about coaching that has nothing to do with the client?

It's the ultimate self-growth journey... You literally have to work through all your own baggage to grow the business. Feeling seen? gotta get through that to post on social media. Worthy? Gotta get through that to get someone on a call and help them from a place of love not lack. And get through it so that you can actually ask for money.
It's like bro this shit is all just a big fucking mirror for myself.

## Travel & Novelty
- What's a travel moment that fundamentally changed how you see something?

Bali and the socializing.
SE Asia, Bali, Thailand, and how happy people are... yet how they actually live... how little they live with compared to the western world.
Like fuck me the smiles that Bali locals have on their faces every day, the construction workers saying hi on our way to the villa after the Onem Bali event

- What's the most overrated thing about the nomadic lifestyle?

The constant traveling hahaha Oh man it'd be so cool to like move countries every couple weeks. Bro that shit is exhausting and you gotta spend so much inside Google Maps and Airbnb and hostel world trying to find the right housing, the right restuarants, close to a gym, healthy food, like fuck me it takes so much effort.

- Where were you when you had your biggest life realization?

Probably in Bali

## Decision-Making & Overthinking

- What's the best decision you ever made with incomplete information?

Buying a van with the sense that it'd be worth doubling down on the lifestyle.
Quitting my job and just traveling, with no idea how to sustain it or build a business around it
Flying to Europe and backpacking it with no real plans
Just full sending it into life coaching without knowing my exact ICP or offer yet

- When was the last time you trusted your gut over your analysis — and what happened?

Deciding to get into coaching and dropping my VideoHawk SaaS work – like the floodgates of energy excitement and aliveness just opened, permission to share what's true to me

## Ambition & Motivation

- When was the last time you felt genuinely fired up — not performing fire, actually feeling it?

Prep for [name] call felt good 2 weeks ago, that was genuine
The moments right after those unbelievable ski runs at Park City

- What would you work on even if nobody ever saw it?

Inner work, "fixing" the delta between what I want to do/say I will do and what I actually do, uncovering my patterns... I say this because this is basically exactly what I did for 1.5 years after quitting my job with no _real_ plans on building a business.

- What's the gap between who you are Monday morning and who you are Friday night?

Honestly? My Monday through Saturday is literally the same day copy and pasted. Except for errands days. And Sundays differ just a bit because I do a weekly review and Life Update blog post... So this question just doesn't really apply to me.
